| I live in Holiday Island, Arkansas, a golf resort
community on the outskirts of Eureka Springs. Eureka Springs is a very popular wedding and tourist destination and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Nestled in between two mountains, it is a very
picturesque town with winding streets, beautifully preserved architecture and over 60 natural springs. It is also a very artistic community with over 80 bed and breakfasts and a number of surprisingly sophisticated shops, restaurants and art galleries that attract visitors from all over the country.
Holiday Island is a golf resort community and wildlife sanctuary that was developed to compliment the shopping, dining and scenery in Eureka Springs. The island is actually a peninsula surrounded by Tablerock Lake, but the majority of homes are built off island in the surrounding mountainsides. Unlike Eureka Springs, which is densely concentrated, Holiday Island is vast and open, giving homeowners plenty of space to enjoy the abundant wildlife and panoramic mountain views. My home was built just below the ridge of a mountaintop, and my only neighbors are the deer and other wildlife that pass by everyday!
